Assim, e depois de termos divulgado a moção aprovada em Assembleia-Geral da APAF na passada sexta-feira, publicamos agora uma tradução livre para inglês, da mesma, a fim de darmos conhecimento deste apoio aos nossos colegas anglo-saxónicos.

SOLIDARITY WITH THE SCOTTISH REFEREES

Given the disgraceful campaign that our Scottish Referees friends are being victims, jeopardizing their good name and reputation, by various agents sports that country;

Considering that the threat climate towards the referees became unacceptable, even with physical integrity and death threats;

Considering also that the Scottish Association of Referees, in accordance with their referees, decided for a protest strike, held this weekend (27 and 28 November 2010);

The Portuguese Referees Association, gathered at Annual General Meeting of this Association, at the margins of its agenda, and REFEREETIP decided to:

1 - Express solidarity with the just struggle of the Scottish referees in the defense of their good name and the search for respect for their function;

2 - Plea to the Scottish Football Association to undertake the necessary measures to support their referees, so that in the future they may develop their activity with complete independence, in an environment of respect and safety, and always striving for the truth of sports and Fair Play.

3 - Recognize and acknowledge the commitment of the Portuguese Football Federation, represented by its President, Dr. Gilberto Madaíl, by the comprehension and readiness with which they respected the solidarity that the Portuguese Referees manifested to their Scottish colleagues.
